In order to build Taiwan into the world’s leading smart manufacturing center, Executive President Zhuo Rongtai officially announced the ‘Chubu Precision Smart New Core Promotion Plan’ on June 26. This plan will take TSMC as the core to drive the settlement of advanced manufacturing processes and advanced packaging industries; Micron as the core to develop the high-end memory industry chain; and Hanxiang as the center to create a new non-red supply chain. The government hopes that this will further enhance the advantages of the central region in precision machinery, semiconductor, optical communications and other industries, bring together top talents, and ultimately shape the Zhongzhang Cloud investment region into a new precision and smart town in Taiwan.

President Zhuo Rongtai said that the Government willpromote this plan through three strategies: ‘The two-axis transformation of core industries‘, ‘Thereconstruction of existing cores and the new cores‘, and ‘the use of legal persons to drive industrial innovation‘. He emphasized that this is not only a key step for Taiwan to move towards the next stage of high-tech industry development, but also a series of new efforts to achieve the goal of ‘balanced Taiwan’.

Qiu Qiuhui, director of the Department of Industry and Development of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, further explained that this plan will be planned according to the industrial characteristics of each county and city.：
- TaichungCity: It will be built as a precision machinery and intelligent manufacturing center.
- ChanghuaCounty: Focus on the development of metal products and vehicle components industrial settlements.
- NantouCounty: Agriculture will develop towards intelligence and refinement.
- YunlinCounty: It will deepen the value chain of smart aquaculture.
In addition to guiding existing core industries such as precision machinery, metal products, and vehicle components to undergo digital and low-carbon dual-axis transformation, this plan also adds optics, semiconductor, smart agriculture, and UAV industries as new core industries in the central region to enhance their added value. He Jincang, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, gave an example. As an important precision machinery town in Taiwan, Zhongzhang Investment is very suitable for the development of the aerospace industry, and can complement the uav settlement in Chiayi County to jointly enhance the overall R&D and manufacturing energy.
