The Executive Yuan restarted the Economic Development Committee and began to plan Taiwan’s future national development blueprint. According to relevant sources in the Political academy, the first advisory meeting in the second half of this year will be held on July 22. One of the highlights of the conference is the report and discussion of the ‘New Top Ten AI Constructions’. It is expected that it will start from the three directions of smart applications, key technologies and digital infrastructure. The goal is to make Taiwan an ‘artificial intelligence island’.

Executive President Zhuo Rongtai pointed out that this ‘New Top Ten AI Buildings’ will fully integrate AI elements and link the future development trends of science and technology and industry. He hopes to accelerate the digital transformation of domestic industries through the dual-track parallel of AI industrialization and industrial AIIZATION. In addition, it will also be combined with the five ‘trusted industries’ promoted by President Lai Qingde to drive all walks of life to a new stage.
Zhuo Rongtai further emphasized that the development of sovereign AI, computing power infrastructure, smart government and data governance are the key directions of the government’s future governance. At the same time, at the key technical level, resources will also be invested to strengthen the development of forward-looking technologies such as silicon photonics, quantum computers, intelligent robots and unmanned vehicles.
People from the Political Academy added that the Economic Development Council advisory meeting will be divided into three group meetings, the first of which will start at 9:30 a.m. on the 22nd. In addition to reporting on the results of the current stage, the meeting will also add new discussion topics, and reserve enough time for in-depth exchanges and suggestions by consultants. Each meeting is expected to last for three hours.
In addition, the meeting will also explain the progress of the promotion of the ‘Trillion Yuan Investment National Development Plan’, ‘Building Taiwan as an Asian Asset Management Center’, and the ‘National Talent Competitiveness Leap Plan’. After the three breakout sessions are completed, the government will convene the fourth committee meeting to explain the follow-up policy planning and implementation direction to the public.
